In the morning of September 13th, the unveiling ceremony of Chinese-Australian Joint Research Center for Biotic&Abiotic Stress Management and the conferring ceremony to offer President Sun Qixin the title of honorary professor was held in A&F International Exchange Center.

Vice president Luo Jun presided over the ceremony, Murdoch University delegation including president Richard Higgott and over 80 from A&F including president Sun Qixin, staff from Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, experts from State Key Laboratory of Crop Stress Biology for Arid Areas as well as postgraduates attended the ceromony. Sun Qixin and Richard Higgott unveiled the center together.

The opening ceremony was held  in session of 80th anniversary following Richard Higgott and Sun Qixin’s common proposal. Cooperations and exchanges would be carried out centering on major scientific issues on crop stress in arid areas by the research center to develop more thorough and wide-ranging academic and scientific cooperations between A&F University and Murdoch University . Besides, reports on the development plannings of the center were delivered by Shashi Sharma, the principal of the center, and professor Kang Zhensheng respectively.

Murdoch University offered Sun Qixin the title of honorary professor due to his distinguished contribution to the exchange and cooperation between the two universities, on behalf of Murdoch University, Richard Higgott conferred the certificate on Sun.
